10 Patients Killed in Fire at SCB Medical College Hospital in Odisha

A tragic fire break took place in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha, in which ten patients died, and 11 staff members were injured. The fire, which occurred in the wee hours of Monday morning, is believed to have started as a result of an electrical short circuit in the trauma care ICU of the hospital. This incident is the latest in a series of similar accidents in India, which indicate a pattern of hospital fires, electrical short circuits, and the risky nature of ICUs, where a high concentration of electrical equipment is located. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a judicial inquiry into the incident, financial compensation for the families of the victims, and praised the bravery of the staff of the hospital, who risked their lives to save others.
